Redneck Spring Break Trip!

Our spring break was unique, that's for sure! We were planning on heading to Mississippi for the week but Mama and Daddy's house was completely torn up with their remodelling. What's a family who is sick of the weather and craving Chick-Fil-A to do? Well, thanks to the internet, they find out where the closest restaurant is and plan a trip!

Meg needed the driving time so we chose Davenport, Iowa, for our destination! We recruited the Chestnuts and headed off for our Redneck Spring Break Trip 2009! I mean, who else but a bunch of rednecks would plan their trip around the Chick Fil A, spend the night to swim and eat their weight in ice cream before coming home?!?


We did manage to do other things in Davenport as well. We went to the Putnam Museum and discovered a Davenport favorite, Whitey's Ice Cream. We swam until pruney and then swam some more! The hot tub at the hotel literally foamed like a bubble bath which was so funny! Emily and Jillian had never eaten at a hibachi steak house, so it was a trip full of firsts!

We had so much fun, even Meg had to admit it. We did decide after visiting South Bend a few weeks ago, though, that we would take our next Redneck trip to the Notre Dame CFA. Meg liked the "scenery" better there than in Davenport ;)
