November at the Arboretum

This past week the weather has been crazy. A little over a week ago we had hail and snow. By the end of that week, which was Halloween, it was in the mid-70's. We trick or treated with NO COATS, NO HATS, NO GLOVES and it felt totally NORMAL! So this week, when the weather kept up its good run, I dedcided to play hookie and bug out from all responsibilities and take Ellen Claire to my favorite place up here, the Morton Arboretum.

We ditched bible study in the morning, cleaning, laundry, groceries, planning for this big taco night for the cheerleaders and even religious education class for Will in the afternoon! I don't know how to explain what a gift it was to have a week of 70's in November. The color was amazing this year and the warmth just made for a perfect, perfect day.

And I am so glad that we did it while we could. It's ok right now, but by this afternoon we should have rain, hail and snow again. We are just looking over our shoulder at winter. Carpe Diem!
