Nana and Pop-Pop visit Chicago

We had another WONDERFUL visit with Nana and Pop-Pop this past October. It went by too quickly, that's for sure. But while they were here we had the best weather for the best time! We were able to head into the city for a Saturday--and as you can see, we really couldn't have asked for better weather. We took the train and the trolley which makes for one cheap and easy way to travel to and around Chicago. I heard today that they are cutting the free trolleys due to budget issues--I think I'm going to have to write a letter on that one!
The main event of the day was the Architecture Boat Tour. It was so much fun! Our docent was just full of information on all the buildings along the Chicago River. She based everything (reasonably so) off the architecture information of the buildings--next time we're going to do one with more of the history. I also found my "grown up" townhome right on the river! When I asked Jack why we live in the suburbs, he said there's about 6 million dollar reasons why :)
We walked up Michigan Avenue, the Magnificent Mile, when we finished our tour. It was PACKED as the Chicago Marathon was the next day. It was a great day to be a tourist in town! We wandered our way up Michigan to Rosebuds. We have one in Naperville, but I don't think that it could ever taste as good as the one downtown. I mean, after all, we were about to eat our fists we were so hungry and the atmosphere was really cool. The pasta was amazing and HUGE, so we had enough for dinner, too!

Meg got a lot out of the tour :)
