Walking to the Range Light

Walking to the range light is something that we never miss on our cabin visits. The freighters use the range light to line up their ship into the channel, turning right in front of us. The sunset is amazing, and with a little luck (like in the picture above) we get a ship going by at JUST the right moment. Timing is everything, even with the sunset. The sun sets around 9:15pm in August and the weather can change in a moment. So you have to keep the kids up and hope the clouds don't roll in!

We love our walk to the range light! Meg and Sarah even carried on a tradition that Meg instituted last year with Mackenzie to take a picnic on the last day--making sure to take all the junk food they could find! Evidently, that is what makes the picnic!
