We FINALLY have some Spring!

We had to wait almost 4 weeks later than normal to have these beauties bloom, but boy was it worth the wait! With only 3 Peony bushes, I have cut and given away HUNDREDS of blooms! Well, maybe not hundreds, but a whole bunch! Put it like this, every night I go out and cut a bucket full of blooms, only to wake up the next morning with more unfurling! I did that for an entire week. My friends even got to enjoy the bounty as I ran out of bowls, vases, cups...

Brookfield Zoo Visit

We spent a beautiful day with our friends the Carmodys at the zoo yesterday. We have been just craving sun and heat--and we got it yesterday! The girls were more interested in the park at the zoo. We talked them into seeing a few animals, but then it became all about eating their picnic lunch and playing in the park! Amy and I said that next time we'll save the gas and time and just meet at the local park with our lunches! The girls would be just as happy!

Ellen Claire was all about seeing the frogs. Amy gave her the challenge of finding the Madagascar Red Tomato Frog--and we found it! She also was trying to find her prince charming...

They crashed out asleep on the way home, even after sloshing down Icees in special zoo cups. It must have been a great day!

To Bee or Not to Bee!

To Bee or Not to Bee was the question of the night! The third grade put on a great performance with our sweet friend Emily being the lead character! She had to discover what kind of bee she wanted to be. Will was a spelling bee...there were knitting bees, honey bees and all sorts of bees to explore. We had a great time and were very proud of all the kids!
We found our tile that we made at the end of Will's first grade year to mark the opening of his school. We are finally finishing up school this week and we'll have a fourth grader and a sophomore!!! What in the world?!?! Pretty soon she'll be trying to figure out what kind of Bee to be as well :)
